Our Amazing Staff

Betsy Taylor

Betsy has been the Director at Holy Name Preschool since 2004 and she enjoys it more and more each year! Her love for early childhood began in high school where she took every early childhood class they had to offer. She then went on to pursue her degrees. She has a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Lynchburg College, and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A & M. She has been a teacher most of her life. She took an extended break to raise her three amazing children, Billy, Brenden and Kyla.

Betsy has lived in Steamboat Springs since 1994 and absolutely loves it...as long as she gets the ocean at least once a year! She has a passion for cooking, gardening, yoga, dancing, and laughing. Betsy's greatest passion is giving the children the opportunity to discover, create, explore and to grow in a warm, nurturing environment. Betsy looks forward to the opportunity every day!

Kendra loves working here, watching children's curious minds evolve and be proud of themselves when they learn new skills! Kendra moved here from Ohio where she was a nanny for six years! She attended a Nanny and Governess school where she gained 12 certifications. Before she moved here, she did van life for a summer where she traveled around the country exploring, learning and creating great memories.

Steamboat was very attractive to her because of the snowboarding and all the outside activities. When she is not at work, she enjoys being up on the mountain, reading and being social.

While working here, she hopes to start her Early Childhood Education journey. She plans to take some classes this summer.

Kendra Sherer
Preschool Assistant Teacher

Hanna is excited to be a Teacher here at Holy Name. It brings her so much joy to see every kiddo's face each day.

She grew up in a small town in Minnesota, where she spent her summers in the lake boating and swimming. In the winter her time has been spent ice fishing and lake skating. She graduated from the local Alberta Lea High School in 2014. Shortly after she moved here to Steamboat to become a nanny. She immediately fell in love with the mountains and everything Steamboat has to offer! After four years she decided to relocate to Scottsdale, AZ to try something new. However she missed the snow and is now back in. Steamboat!

In Hanna's free time she loves to bake, spend time with her family, going out to dinner with her boyfriend and playing with her cat named Chef!

Mackenzie Schneider

Mackenzie is so excited to be a Teacher at Holy Name Preschool. She has lived in Colorado almost her whole life. She loves the mountains and the trees but isn't too keen on the snow! She has seven younger siblings, ages 18 to 4, which is where her love for children stems from. She has been babysitting for her own family since she was 12 years old and non-related families since she was 14 years old. She enjoys spending time with her friends and being outdoors.

Before this job, she has been wanting to start a career in Early Childhood Education! She believes that working at the preschool will be very beneficial in jumpstarting my career in this. She previously went to college to become an EMT but decided that it was not the career path she wanted. It is exciting for her to see what Holy Name Preschool has in store for her and her future!
